Ships don’t bring us the life we enjoy.

Seafarers do.

The Mission to Seafarers (MtS) provides help and support to the 1.89 million men and women who face danger every day to keep the global economy afloat. MtS works in over 200 ports in 50 countries caring for seafarers of all ranks, nationalities and beliefs.

Through its global network of chaplains, staff and volunteers, MtS offers practical, emotional and spiritual support to seafarers through ship visits, drop-in seafarers' centres and a range of welfare and emergency support services.

The Mission to Seafarers Australia & PNG

The Australian Council oversees, supports and encourages the work of every Mission to Seafarers (MTS) centre around Australia. We strive to promote an atmosphere of family, a sense of service and solidarity among those in maritime ministry, and strengthen ties between Australian and international MTS centres to reinforce our global MTS family and support networks.

We maintain a close connection and friendship with MTS International Headquarters in London on behalf of all MTS centres in Australia.

At each conference, six representatives are elected from the MTS Centres to serve on the Council on a voluntary basis. The Council also employs a National Executive Officer (Regional Director) to coordinate and organise the executive work of the Council.

There are 28 Missions to Seafarers across Australia and one voluntary Chaplain in Port Moresby,

The Mission to Seafarers NZ & Oceania

The Mission to Seafarers New Zealand and Oceania is dedicated to supporting the welfare of the thousands of seafarers who pass through the region’s ports each year. As part of a global network, the Mission provides essential services such as pastoral care, practical assistance, and a welcoming space for seafarers far from home. Whether offering transport to shore, internet access to connect with loved ones, or emotional and spiritual support during challenging times, the Mission ensures that those who keep global trade moving are never forgotten. With a strong presence in key ports across New Zealand and the Pacific, the Mission to Seafarers remains a vital lifeline for seafarers navigating the world’s oceans.
